Ekta Kapoor’s latest show Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi will showcase Shakti Arora (playing Ranveer) and Radhika Madan (playing Ishaani) in a lead pair.
Ranveer will play the role of a man who belongs to a humble background and is hopelessly in love with Ishaani. Due to certain circumstances, he will constantly fail to express his feelings to her, but will maintain his friendship with her nonetheless. Radhika on the other hand, will play the role of a simple girl, who views Ranveer as her companion, friend and confides in him, unaware about his love for her.
Speaking about his character, Shakti Arora said,” For Ranveer, his life revolves around Ishaani. He has been in love with her for as long as he can remember, but he is also conscious of the fact that his feelings will never be reciprocated. I hope audiences do enjoy my portrayal of a silent lover whose single aim in life is to ensure that Ishaani is happy.”
Radhika Madan while speaking about her role in the show said, “Ishaani is the perfect Indian girl who believes in love and all the good things in life and I am working really hard to get into the mould of her character.”
When asked Ekta Kapoor about how Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi will be different from the rest of the love stories on television today she said “I never claimed it is a story different from the rest. Yes, it is a love story like many others, but there is always something, a certain zing, a certain element which makes every love story different in its own way. For example, take the movie Ram-Leela. Again it was a love story, but it clicked with the people as it was presented in a different way.”
The show will also see the likes of Sarita Joshi (playing Ishaani’s grandmother) and Gauri Pradhan-Tejwani who is making a comeback to television after a long gap of five years. Prithvi Sankala will be seen playing Ishaani’s father and Shahab Khan as Ranveer’s father.
Ek Villain, an Ekta Kapoor production, also features Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh
Ekta Kapoor has come up with a brand new show and looks like her inspiration is none other than our PM Modi. What’s going on? Read on to know more….
Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi, which is set to hit the floors on June 23, saw its launch today. The Iron Lady of televion, Ekta Kapoor herself, was seen giving a few bytes to the media regarding her upcoming show.
When asked about her fixation with depicting Gujarati households in most of the shows, including Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi, Ekta Kapoor said “Well I love Gujaratis. And why not have a Gujarati household now that our PM is a Gujarati man, Mr Narendra Modi himself? ”
This humorous answer of hers surely earned her a lot of brownie points. She was also seen talking about Gauri Pradhan’s comeback on television saying, “I have known Gauri for many years now. She has a very pretty face so her character has always been consciously positive. But in this show, her role is different. I wouldn’t say it’s negative, but is more edgy and has shades of grey.”
With another love story set to dazzle telly land, we wonder what Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi has in store for us. The show stars Shakti Arora and Radhika Madan in leading roles and is set to go on air June 23rd.

Though their earlier venture together didn’t really get the box office on fire, the two are putting the speculation that all was not well between the two to rest by this move. Akki might be playing the lead in this one too.
Shraddha Kapoor was supposed to make an appearance for the promotion of her upcoming film, Ek Villain, but she didn’t turn up for it and apparently, this has not gone down well with producer Ekta Kapoor. A source says, “On Thursday, Shraddha was supposed to report at the venue at 11.30 in the morning to interact with the media, but she didn’t turn up. The crew waited for her an hour and even called her but all their calls went unanswered. Finally, they had to cancel her interviews. The second round of promotional activity was slated to take place at 1.30pm and again, Shraddha was unreachable.”
With all their all attempts to reach the actress going in vain, the crew was panic-struck. “The team apparently informed Ekta about this issue and when she called up Shraddha, the actress is said to have told her that she was a little tied up and could only come in after 2.30pm. Ekta then asked her to stay put this time around,” says the source, adding that Ekta was upset with the actress’ behaviour.
While Ekta denied calling Shraddha, director Mohit Suri says that the actress was a little under the weather and thus, wanted to come an hour late. “When I spoke to her, I told her to just come for the dubbing as that’s more important.”
Shraddha Kapoor’s spokesperson says that since the actress had just landed in Mumbai the previous night from Jaipur, she was a little tired and unwell. “Shraddha is fully involved in the film’s promotions; in fact, she is in Kolkata on Friday and in Bangalore on Saturday,” says the spokesperson.
