Sonam Kapoor is the ultimate fashionista in tinsel town who has set a niche for herself in the top slot of being one of the most stylish starts on the block amongst the young brigade of stars. This B-Town star has had just about four Bolly releases namely Saawariya, Delhi 6, I Hate Love Storys and Aaisha, but she has managed to create an aura and charm of her own in the world of glitz and glamor.
Bollywood by far has been one of the most important platforms for fashion trends to be followed by almost all fashion conscious people, at least the younger generations.
The music of ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ has released and composer duo of Vishal and Shekhar are waiting for the response with bated breath. After all, not just have they composed for one of their biggest films till date, they have also re-entered into the music scene in a big way after a rather low 2009 with ‘Aladin’ being their sole release. With their music of ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ turning out to be a success and ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ carrying great buzz, Vishal and Shekhar are waiting for audiences’ verdict.
What seemed like a shaky beginning turned out to be a momentary scare for Aisha as eventually, it did manage to scrape through. Though the opening Friday was strictly average and word of mouth not much strong either, Aisha still attracted substantial audience over the weekend to gain some strength at the box office.
Sonam left for Toronto on Sunday night. But not before expressing her happiness over the encouraging opening of Aisha. “I feel like a hero! I feel I’m shouldering the film. It’s daunting to know that heroes get an opening at the box office, and then you see my film get an opening! If I may say so, Aisha got a very decent opening. In any case it’s not very big-budgeted film.”
With their aggressive acquisition spree T-Series reached its Numero Uno position with music of A list films like 3 Idiots, Jab We Met, Ghajini, Taare Zameen Par, Om Shanti Om, Kaminey, Delhi 6, Golmaal Returns to name a few followed by the acquisition of Reliance Big Music catalogue in December last year. With the biggest acquisition yet T-Series now takes control of Eros Music Catalogue.
‘I Hate Luv Storys’ had everything going in its favour and that showed in the way it opened at the box office. As predicted last week, an opening of more than 70% was pretty much on the cards and this is exactly how the collections stood. With the opening weekend business being huge (~23 crores) and next only to the likes of ‘Raajneeti’, ‘Kites’, ‘Housefull’ and ‘My Name Is Khan’ this year, ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ brought smiles back on the faces of those who were looking for feel good entertainment.
I Hate Luv Storys has released and opened to a very good response all over. This also means that Sonam Kapoor now has a definite hit up her sleeves more than two years after making her debut with Saawariya and following it up with Delhi 6. Now that this Punit Malhotra directed film had made an impact amongst the youth, one can’t help but ask Sonam whether IHLS intended to break the cliché of conventional love stories?
