Javed Akhtar felicitated with Taj Tareef Award

One of Hindi cinema’s most acclaimed lyricist Javed Akhtar was felicitated on Tuesday April 28th evening with the Taj Tareef Award at the Red Lounge of Cinemax, Versova by the Taj Enlighten Society.

Javedsaab as he is fondly called, speaking on the occasion said, “I am truly delighted by the initiatives undertaken by the Taj Enlighten Film Society. They are not only appreciative about good cinema but also take the efforts of revive the magic of world cinema and allow its audience to experience it. The society’s concerted effort to hone skills of budding scriptwriters is commendable.”

Javed Akhtar felicitated with Taj Tareef Award

A workshop had been conducted at the venue on art of scriptwriting with Javed Akhtar. It concluded with a personal tête-à-tête between Javed Saab and the audience, where he shared his experiences and insights on Indian Cinema, screenplay and his journey so far. After which Javed Saab was felicitated with the ‘Taj Enlighten Tareef Award’ by Anjum Rajabali, the writer of National Award winning films such as Pukar and Legend of Bhagat Singh and Vikram Grover, Category Head – Beverages, Hindustan Unilever Limited. Apart from winning several popular Bollywood film awards, Javed Akhtar has also been awarded with Padma Shri by the Government of India in 1999 and has received the Padma Bhushan in 2007. -Sampurn
