Suspense queen Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie might have toned down her wild girl image after motherhood but she still has a long way to go before portraying homely images on screen.

After a string of crime-fighting characters in action packed thriller like ‘Wanted’, ‘Mr and Mrs Smith’, ‘Gone in Sixty Seconds’ and her upcoming film, ‘Salt’, she’s set to do another similar role.

Even one of her early films ‘The ‘Bone Collector’ almost a decade back was a thriller.

Now the star has landed another role in a new film based on Patricia Cornwell’s bestselling novels.

According to Contactmusic.com, the 33-year-old mother of six will play the title character from Cornwell’s 16 novel series about forensic examiner Dr Kay Scarpetta, a woman with a messy love life who solves crime and loves the opera.

Reportedly though studio bosses have yet to line up a screenwriter or director for the new film, insiders claim that the deal could mean the start of a new franchise for the actress who had her last series success with ‘Lara Croft: Tomb Raider’.

At this rate, Jolie could soon be crowned the one and only Hollywood suspense queen.-Sampurn
