Sachin: A Billion Dreams, the film based on the life of cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, has been declared tax-free in two states – Kerala and Chhattisgarh. A decision to this effect was taken by the cabinet of each state, in compliance with government policies.
Produced by Ravi Bhagchandka under the banner of 200NotOut, ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’ is a biographical drama directed by award-winning British filmmaker James Erskine. While the best moments of Tendulkar’s life on the field is the stuff of legends, it is his personal journey from a young boy to the cricketing icon, which the movie captures on the big screen. If it was Sachin’s pure dedication to the craft that attracted director Erskine to the subject, for producer Bhagchandka, it was a dream-come-true project.
