Prime Minister promises support to film industry
Yesterday, delegation of Film Industry led by Mahesh Bhatt along with Amit Khanna, Mukesh Bhatt and Manmohan Shetty, met His Honorary Dr. Manmohan Singh, The Honourable Prime Minister of India.
The Prime Minister was very appreciative of the Indian cinema and hailed it as an important cultural asset for the country. He also promised that he would do all that he could to support the film industry.

He also promised to look into the recommendation of I.C.E (Information-Communication-Entertainment Committee) set by him earlier. His message was “Think BIG! Indian cinema must flourish!”
Post their meeting with the Prime Minister, Mahesh Bhatt, Amit Khanna, Mukesh Bhatt and Manmohan Shetty also met the Finance Minister, Pranab Mukherjee, who said that he completely agreed with the fact that the Indian film industry deserves recognition and support from the Government. He also agreed that the industry serves as the cultural ambassador of India in abroad and promotes the Indian culture globally. -Sampurn
